Ideas for long hair?

My hair is very long, kind of poofy, %26amp; wavy. I have to use a ceramic straightener everyday to make it look smooth %26amp; better. I usually wear it down %26amp; parted to the side. I`m just sick of this look. I look kind of stupid in pony tails too...could you give me some ideas to make it less plain?
