Well, you should try surfing the Internet for up to date styles.

I also have frizzy curly hair. I went to beauty school and found that Updo's can be fun and very creative!

switch it up some. Part it differently than normal, maybe get bangs. They could be fun. Cut them diagonally or straight across maybe. You could also go to a salon and ask for something that's in style something fun that wont bore you fora long time! A neat hair cut that you can do many styles with rather it be down or up! I've got the same hair type as you so I understand! I get mine cut with long layers that frame the face. The layers help so it doesn't look like a haystack on rainy/humid days. Also, this type of cut is versatile if you ever wear it straight. It's pretty flattering for most face shapes (I have a round face). If you've got the frizzies, I would recommend a dime size drop of Frizz Eaze and a good gel (I use Biolage Gelee). let your hair air dry and try not to tough it as much as possible while it dries. This will help shape the curl. Good luck!

The Navy is the only branch that cuts womens hair in boot camp. They cut it to above the collar. If you go in with short neat hair, then you can skip this. Your recruiter should be able to help on this, of course if he is a man, he will be cluelss.

A bit of advice, keep it simple, you will not have time for any fancy hair dos.

So get it cut yourself (there is some security in this) and if you don't like, remember it will grow back.

Enjoy Great Lakes as best as you can, tell Mom and Dad not to worry. They will keep you busy and a phone call is not considered a necessity. If you don't attend church consider it, sometimes it is a way to get extra phone time. If you are not in shape, get in shape. Make sure you know how to swim.

Although I went to boot camp many many years ago , most of us managed to look and wear hair within regulations without anything drastic. Good luck I loved the Navy wish I had stayed until retirement.

It does not matter, if you cut it before you go, they will cut it more. Leave it how it is and do not worry about it. Believe me you have better things to worry about before you go. Make sure you have plenty of postage stamps, paper, envelopes and have your general orders memorized. Also when you get there just follow the line, no not talk unless someone in uniform talks to you. Bootcamp was the easiest time I had in the Navy, as that is all you really have to do is follow the line and be quiet. Do not worry about your hair though, there are no "hot" guys there and they do not cut the females bald, unless maybe if you show up with short hair.

O-K FOR ALL THOSE BEFORE ME....THE MILITARY DOESNT CUT YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU GET THERE UNLESS IT HAS TO BE. they provide you with alist of requirements to complete before going to boot camp. when you report for duty they will look you over and tell you what you need to get done. cut it short, leave a few bangs. during boot camp you will have a hat on and when you go outside you will always have to wear your cap. only indoors can you take it off when you are in full Navy dress.or waring your BDU's

go to your hair dresser and tell her that you need a military cut, but you also want it versatile enough to wear it in style out in public out of military dress.

ha, good luck. i have the same prob from one ancestor way back in the line- it's the only african trait i got. i've learned if i'm wearing it curly, never ever brush it and that keeps the fro-ness to a minimum.

well i am an expert at hair so i'd have to say wash it ,blow dry it,comb it out,brush it out too,then if u have a flat iron flat iron it. after that it will be nice and straight and you can put it in lots of different styles.or just leave it out ur still gonna b beautiful.

it is very reputable shampoo, and buying the conditioner is a must as well. it is cost efficient and will give you the look that zac efron sports, although his hair is very fake and full of hairspray. he will turn bald before he is 40 but you wont with pantene pro-v. sunsilk shampoo and conditioner is also acceptible, but never use garnier fructose. although the shortterm effect of garnier are nice, it will make your hair fall out after a month or so

dude...you need to use the mustard treatment...here it is, free of charge:

1/2 cup yellow French's mustard

1/2 cup yellow Plochman's mustard

2 oz. Grey Poupon (for the added zing and color treatment)

mix this stuff together, lather up your skull with it, anything left over, put on your hotdog in the shower....wash your hair and have lunch at the same time...enjoy!

ok... well i dont know what kind of hair type you have but i would tell you to go to your local salon where you get your hair done, and your stylist if you have one or someone who works there will help you i usually have clients that love the sleek life line from matrix as for products biologe also matrix milk shine spray works great my brother used to steal if from me and it just make hair lie smooth with out frizzies and shiny and very soft.

i think that layering is a good idea. that way you can have nice sexy bits that fall down around your face. I think that a side fringe would also be nice and would look great when your hair is in a bun. perhaps get some subtle highlights through your hair just to break up the block of colour and this will help stop it from looking too severe when in a bun. If you get a t bar and not a full head, be sure to tell the colourist that you wear your hair back alot so you need extra highlights on the side of your face.

well if you have long enough hair i like to just take a clip and put it up in a bun with a little bit of hair down in the front it looks nice and doesn't have to be perfect.

When I put my hair up, I put mouse in it when it's wet then I scrunch it and blowdry it on hot/low,(I have straight hair) then I do a french twist and use a crocodial clip to hold it. The curly pieces stay put and it gives it more body so the clip stays in place better, then I have a side part in my bangs/fringe. Then finish it off with some hairspray.

Well, the only way to get your hair to grow, is pretty much by patience. You should get it trimmed 1/2 an inch regularly [ every 6-8 weeks] and keep it well conditioned. You won't find any magical formula to make it grow faster. Yes, all the bottles and infomercials say it will, but they won't. Patience and regular trims are the two factors needed in growing your hair.

Multivitamins, omega 3-6-9, and gelatin suppliments taken daily. Mix 1 raw egg in your shampoo when you wash your hair. premix it or you will partially cook the egg while it is still in your hair. I found mine grew about two inches longer than it normally would in a year. So, around 6 inches, I think.

If you want your hair to grow quickly, try not processing it with straightening or coloring for a few months. Condition your hair often. Hair types have different growth rates, but my uber-curly hair grew 1 inch a month when I was good to it (it would have grown faster if I hadn't dyed it in the past!)

Now I have straight hair, and I know the straightening is causing split ends, which impede hair growth.

Don't overdo it or get it professionally done...that could take away from the bride's hair (probably not, but you never know)! Wear it down if it's wavy like your avatar, or part your hair in the middle, and take an inch from each side, so that you have a section of hair that, if you put it straight up, it will be tall. Pin it back with a bobby pin so that it sort of looks like you have a stripe going down your head. You can pull it tight, or leave it a bit looser (think Scarlett Johannsen [sp?]).

Do a french twist. Pull your hair back in a pony tail, twist it, fold the twist up and roll it and tuck the ends in. Secure with a decorative hair comb.

a friend gave me some cute little bows for your hair. They are small about the length of your thumb and they have those kinds of snap clips you usually see on bows. She gave me of all sors of cute colors and they are adorable.I just can't find a cute hairstyle I could wear to pull off the little bows.( especially since I'm wayyy past the "bow wearing" age.)

It depends on the length of your hair. If you have short hair you can do a lot of cute ideas. I just cut my hair so I like to put cute little clips and bows in it. I I like to do a side part and use them to clip my bangs and hair down on the sides of my head next to my ear and then use hair spray and a blow dryer to give the back and the rest of my hair some volume (I like to call it a poof lol)

Also you can just pin some of your hair on top of your head in the center, and it looks really cute if you clip it then push it forward a littly and it makes a little bump.poof like thing. I don't know what its called but its really popular these days on celebs.

And one final idea is to put it in a pony, side pony tail or just half up and use the clips near the hair band to add a little pizazz.

Okay, first you need to buy John Frieda Frizz-Ease Styling Serum. You can get them at your Albertsons or Rite Aid, and they only cost $10. There are instructions inside the case that they come in, but I'll tell you anyways cause I've been using it for such a long time! It works great! Okay after you're done taking a shower, while your hair is soaking wet, apple a dime-size amount of the serum into your hair. Then blow dry straight or curly however you want it. If your hair lays flat afterward, use Garnier XXL Volumizing Root Booster. It works well too! And be sure to apply the Garnier while your hair is wet too!

Good luck! It will give you a non-greasy finish!

I really love Sleek by matrix. It cost a lil more but its worth it to me. also if its really textured cuz of damage use panteen for a while. I have hundreds of dollars of the hottest hair products out there and i havent found one yet that makes my hair as healthy as panteen. hope this helps

hair serum works nicely for smoothing and making it shinier. i suggest you use john freda, they make a good product. when you want to style it and keep it from looking greasy use an aerosol hairspray or mousse. your hair may be looking greasy because you are using to much conditioner. it only takes a small dollop. when use alot of condition and dont wash it properly it leaves a film over your hair, making it greasier. hope that helped.

I prefer (for my son and myself) a Flat top also called a Marine cut or a Jar Head cut. Id say get blonde highlights put through the top.. have the sides cut quite short... have the top spiky with a v cut at the back.. Alsoo spike the back up and have a little bit of a fringe flattened with gel

1 shade darker and 1 and 2 shades lighter then your natural colour. full head of highlights. a hair colour that is subtle and similar to yur own will add volume to your hair and als minimum regrowth. if your hair is weak use a protein treatment as this will strengthen it.

long layers in the hair starting at the crown and lon graduation at the front starting from the chin so you will get a nice frame around your face.

a good hairdresser and colourist should give you similar advice

I think braids are very nice, and it seems like it would be a convienent way to take care of your hair, no fro experience but I just like the way braids look.

Well if you want to keep the natural look I say go for the braids. I braid my hair all the time, not extension braids but I think mostly all types of braids look nice if they're done right. With dreds, you might not like them on yourself after you get them so I wouldn't recommend them. Perm and color could be really nice if you don't mind putting chemicals in your hair. It's fine to experiment with different styles. And if you try the other styles and don't like them, a short afro is always nice :)

Many people look CUTE with a short Afro! How about a "wet curl" look? Maybe a marcel wave? Black people are SO lucky to have a versatile hair texture that lends itself so well to dramatic and "shapely" styles. I'm serious. I'm a white lady with wavy hair that goes all frizzy in dry weather and all kinky in humid weather. Here in my neck of the woods (Texas), there's no real in-between. Sometimes I get so jealous of black people who always seem to have control, no matter the weather. You're lucky, girl! No jokes here!

Why don't you try microbraids? (with extensions, of course) If you keep your hair moisturized, they should stay in good condition for weeks, at least. My roommate has very short hair (African-American) and every couple of months I braid her hair in tiny microbraids with the extensions you can get at Sally's.. try using two different colors of hair, like a dark blonde and a darker brown.

OOooohhh, I like pretty clips with glitter and sparkles. There are so many pretty hair clips now!! Butterflies and flowers, especially. They look GREAT in shorter hairstyles. You can make some yourself. Going to an arts supply store, and buying pretty fake flowers, hot gluing them to cheap metal hairclips,and you have made a beautiful hair accessory. Fingerwaves are also very nice, last about a week, and don't stress your hair too much. Twists take forever, but look nice, also. Gel the sides down and do some cute spikes at the top, that is a very cute style. Good Luck, I hope you find some useful suggestions!!

Hey there.

I think you're hair is very pretty now and goes well with your features and face shape. If you want to do something different though, you could get highlights (or lowlights) or curl the ends to flip out. You could also try a wavy perm and get some shorter layers. But I still think it looks very cute the way it is.

I also have a round face, and they say it's not good to have a short cut with that shape face... I would love to have mine cut short, and like you say the crazy rock style , but I'm afraid it would just make my face look rounder and maybe fat.. I do have a medium cut , I call it a chop cut, with several colors .. I do get a lot of compliments on it.. But I see the shorter cuts , that I wish would look good on myself.. I always wear my hair down and straighten it. My hair is naturally wavy but it's uneven. It is down to the bottom of my shoulder blades and I have long bangs down to my chin, it is also layered.

I think you should get sissors and cut off the uneven parts and do something else besides straighten it like curl it crimp it braid it and then leave the rest down. It's looks really C-U-T-E!

Recently I got the ends of my hair dyed pink. That way if I hate it, I can just chop it off. It did not really come out pink though. It WAS pink in certain places, and brownish in others. Looks awesome. :D

But I would get temporary dyes, not permanent. That way you could change the color every month. I'm getting green soon. :D

Try layering your color as well...highlights are always nice. If you have the skintone that allows for copper or auburn shading, I think that's really pretty. Maybe dark on the bottom, lighter in the middle layer and copper chunks on top-waaay hot!

If you have a rounder face, then I would go for a style with definition and angles. It's a nice contrast with the shape of the face. If you're a little daring, I love Posh Beckham's new cut. I think generally a side sweep or fall of hair in the front is flattering to round faces. I have a modified bob that angles toward my face and is about cheekbone height. My whole cut is razored, to give the layers movement and make it a little more edgy. What I would never do (as my face is on the round side, too) is a chin length cut or middle part, as this only accentuates the roundness of my face.

Good luck! And remember, it's just hair. It will grow back if you don't like a look or get bored.

Well, you need some serious hold gel or mousse. Sit on the edge of your bed, apply lots of mousse or gel throughout your hair. Lean forward and brush your hair from back to front. Blow it dry in this position. Add hair spray to hold it and blow it dry even more.

When we had that, I'd baraid my hair in pigtails with pipe cleaners in them and then you can make them into crazy shapes. It works best for thicker hair though, otherwise you see the pipe cleaners.

How about putting it up in a ponytail but curyling it. It will give it a cute vibe. Or put it in a ponytail but wear a ribbon in it to give it a 70's look. Maybe a messy bun would look good. After you shower don't dry your hair just put brush it in than put it in a messy bun on top or to the side of your head. Maybe a low ponytail would also look nice. Lastly, you could do the simple flip.

Hey. I have lots of ideas for you. I would go maybe a level darker, or keep the level of darkness to your hair now, and add highlights. I would suggest caramel highlights if it is your first time because they look good on anyone. You could do the lightest caramel if you think you will look good as a blonde. If you are not sure, you can do a darker caramel. I wouldn't do a lot of light caramel if you have cool skin tones cause it may wash you out. An all over color is cool too if that is a look you are going for. I am also a medium brown and right now, doing a light brown solid color sounds intriguing to me. To do this one can get a box dye in shade called dark blonde. If it is your first color, two boxes are usually required in order to cover every strand. Hair also lightens after every shampoo. Brands like Ultress, and garnier tend to dye dark, so do not leave on for the full length of time. All in all, I would not recommend a Hi-lift series like feria has, it is very strong and, not naturally looking nor necessary. If this does not meet your satisfaction, THEN you can always have your hair adjusted accordingly at the salon. But if you decide to do highlighting, ONLY go to the salon. It is not worth the hassle of doing it yourself seldomly turn out successful. Have fun.

Go to a proffesional, because you don't want to be 'Freaky hair gurl' for halloween. Bangs are NOT in right now, but sideswept bangs are hot. Have it cut to your shoulders w/ light brown highlights. P.S. Use John Frieda frizzie control, to get rid of the frizzies, and I recomend Herbal essences dangerously straight. Remember to shampoo twice and leave the conditioner in for at least 3 minutes before washing it completely out.

Without knowing what you actually look like I couldn't say.

Do a ton of chores, beg your parents to buy you a trip to a reputable hairdresser (salons are not necessarily better than regular hairdressers but they always cost a lot more) to get your hair done. Ask what would look good (they are the pros) and they might tell you to keep it natural and simple or they might give you a green-light to go for full-on rainbow streaks.

Dark Brown Hair, any ideas on highlights color?

Alright, I have long dark brown hair, it's naturally straight and i can do anything with it, curl it, scrunch it, make it wavy.. etc.

I'm so bored with the look of it though, and I would like to know what color highlights would look good with dark brown hair or if i should just dye it another color? I kinda want it to look natural, maybe more than one color highlights would be okay too.
