It is important to make your hair as healthy as it can be. For this you want to wash your hair everyother day because washing it too much can make it more oily. I used to wash my hair everyday but until i found out that it can actually make it more oily. It's sortof like the skin on your face; if you wash it too much the less oil it's going to have therefore your skin produces more oil and your face becomes oily! It is important to have the right balance of oil on your skin, so it's the same with your hair. Don't you think that washing your hair everyday can make it more oily? SO use a good conditioner EVERYDAY such as GARNIER FRUCTIS body and volume. OR ones that say moisurising on it. I heard that if you get a trim it makes your hair grow even faster but that is a lie. although you need to have a trim when you start to see slip ends; with this problem it can take even longer for hair to grow. Don't not cut your hair because you want it to grow faster. Still get it cute before you start to see split ends. You can take vitamins that also help your hair to stay healthy. Good Luck! =]

I really don't think trimming your hair makes it grow..I have really fast growing hair and everyone's hair grows at a different speed. I don't think that there is much that can make your hair grow faster. It's in your DNA. But I've heard that if you massage your scalp a little when your wash it, don't overwash it though. There are a few things that you can do. I looked it up b4 b/c I wanted to know the same thing but I forget what all the things were. My hair is short, too, though I'm trying to grow it out a bit. Right now, one side is ultra-short and the other is longer. It's a bit 80's new wave unfortunately, so I have to be careful how I style it! First, go get a variety of products. Products make all the difference with short hair. Glossing serum, wax, pomade, molding mud, etc. This way you can easily do sleek and shiny or piecy and chunky or spiky. You could also do parts of your hair one way and parts of your hair another. Straightening sections (or all) is a great idea, too! GL!

heres what i do:

try half up and half down. my cousin katie does this alot, but you need to have pretty healthy looking hair underneath. just make a ponytail/bun with the top half of your hair and leave the rest down.

a variation on the half up half down idea: take the hair on your hair line to about an inch in off your forehead and gather it into a ponytail. its like taking bangs and putting them as the half up part. try curling your hair with this style, i saw it on the TV show Smallville, it was one of the doctor's hair styles and it was very femine and yet strong on her. she had brown hair medium length :]

frenchbraids are awesome! my mom has to do mine, but when she does, they look killer! try pigtails with french braids cause i think a french braided poinytail can look strange. this is a great'do for sports and active stuff.

here is one i made up that can look pretty neat: tie off two low ponytails. then put more hair ties on hte pony tail, about 2 or 3 more, to make it look almost like a rope. it looks really neat when your hair ties coordinate with your outfit!

try making a updo fresh with a unique set of bangs that dont be to be cut.... part your hair where you want your bangs to start. take a one inch section from forehead in and tie off to use as your bangs later. take the rest of your hair and put it in a bun or ponytail high up on the back of your head. now untie the bandgs and secure them behind your ears with a clip. i use this style for when i go to work. [i cashier at a food store]

experiment with headbands. use them with updos and when you leave your hair down. they come in all sizes and colors and patterns. coordinate or mix and match.

look on your favorite TV show and look at the girl's hairdos. try to copy them, but with your own twist like crimped bangs or a bun instead of a ponytail. also look at them for tips on cutting your hair next time.

try side ponytail - high or low! either slighty pushed over or dramatically moved to the side of your head. tie a ribbon in a bow ontop of hte elastic, you can get them at walmart real cheap and they look super cute!!!

try straightening your bangs [if you dont have any use the ones i mentioned farther up] and curling/sqruching the rest of your hair. scrunching is a technique where, if your hair is naturaly curly or wavy, you put gel all over wet hair and scrunch it with your hands. it looks really neat and very fashionable!

try this when you wear your hair down and when it is straight: take the hair in the center of your head at your forehead and clip it an inch or two back from your hair line. it pulls the hair out of your face and creats a unique geometric shape with your face. this is simple and great for school cause it keeps the hair out of your face!

try moving around your part. i always used to have it dead on center but then my modeling agency said i should try a side part. i was skeptical at first so i just moved it over an inch. then i tryed two inches and then three. i love it so much! i've even parted my hair RIGHT at the TOP of my EAR! yes, i needed some hair spray with that one but it looked so refined and elegant!

when you part it atleast 3 inches off center, try a low bun. it looks super regal and intellegent. in the movie Evita, Madonna played Eva Peron and she did her hair with the side part and low bun. my mother says i look just like her when i do my hair like that :]

i think this should get you off to a good start :] remember to look on the television and in magazines for ideas and to experiment! be creative! i typed this myself and these all came from my own style so i hope you like them!

do a high pony tail on your hair, grab the end of your pony tail, and brush it backwards, carry on doing it untill your hair is evenly combed back. This will look really nice whether your going clubbing, or sight seeing, your hair maybe tangly when you let it out, all you have to do is put conditioner on it , and comb it through, it will be fine after that.

It really depends on what your hair looks like now. But, getting a frame around the face is never a bad thing. You can't really go wrong with sidebangs either. Depending on your bone structure, straigh-across bangs can be really cute too--but they can be really annoying to pull out of the rest of your hair. Layers? Those are always good.

next time ur hair fades and needs re-doing, ask for half a head of thin cream blond foils. just thin small streaks on ur dark hair will soften and modernise the look. but the first time u do it ur hair wont be the best blond, coz they have to bleach it from the dark colour, get them to put a toner thru it, and but a shampoo or conditioner with a purple colour to it, ask ur hairdresser for a shampoo or conditioner with a toner in it (they are purple in colour) this will help to keep the streaks from going orange or yuck, will brighten them up, and keep ur hair smooth.

if ur hair is straight, get it layered around ur face, the streaks will look great. if ur hair is quite curly, grow it all one length and get a WHOLE head of the foils instead of half, then u will have little bits of blond twirling thru ur dark curls. really nice.

this is parting the hair from temple to temple around the crown area and hiliting from 1/2 inch inside the hairline all the way around to the other side 1/2 inch from the hairline. you could have it done with hilites mix or the stylist could lighten it with hilite mix then tone it with pink or purple or red or something else 'different' for an effect.

it only gets seen when you turn your head really fast or put it up TO see it.

I think the second one would be very cute. But, like you said, a little longer. Try folding up your hair to see what length would look good.

omg!! that sounds just like my hair!!!! mine is wavy tho... if your isnt like, straight, i wouldnt go for layers, unless u straighten it with aflat iron.. try to keep the length, and maybe you should keep the sidebangs, but maybe have the part moved over more to the left (or right, depending on wat side ur part is on now) and maybe have a choppy look (not a mullet) that would look really nice!

Sleek smooth celeb style hair with a diamante slide, clip or discreet tiara. They dont want to look like kids or princesses at this age, just make them look like stars off the red carpet. Get a copy of now magazine and look at the hair styles on the celebs in there. most just have super shiny sleek hair either down or in a simple up do. this can be created with hair serum and a good pair of straighteners (GHD's are the best..) They can have a sleepover or something to experiment so it will be good fun and they get to have a practice.. xxx

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-

curl with iron or rollers

put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves

braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves

put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves

use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves

use mousse

scruch it with gel

get a perm for a more lasting solution

when you get it cut say you want really defined choppy layers. If you tell them to texturize it they will layer it then chop it up when it's dry so it looks messy and really cute.

Ok last year at school I used 2 have this huge problem almost everyday i used the same hair-do(a pony tail)I am really sick ive tried 2 let it down but my hair has lots of waves in it so that didnt work it looks really messy it only lasts ok for like 30 minutes the most, i tried straighting it but it takes 2 much time and its hard 4 me 2 do the back the part that needs the most help , i only have like 5 minutes 2 do my hair in the morning i dont know what else 2 do im out of school right now but next year i know ill have the same problem . please if u have any ideas please write back as soon as possible !!!!!! I would say get a perm, then your waves would last.

But if you like straight hair, take your showers at night, and blow dry your hair and straighten it then. That way, in the mornings you can just fix any spots that need to be re straightened.

If you are not fussy on hair do's then why not try pigtails or plaits, quick simple and look great :). If you have a good hair clip pop it in a french pleat very simple to do just comb your hair back and twist it up tight against your head and clip in the center of your head. Depending on how long your hair is you might have a nice bit that hangs over. You could even add some lovely little flowers to give it a little extra.

My mom won't let me get highlights or lighten my hair. I have black, fine, dry, curly hair. It breaks really easy so and I don't want to damage it to much. I don't want it straight I like the curls. Remember this is a big event that you will want to remember fondly for the rest of your life and you will take pictures.

I would suggest going to a stylist and getting an elegant poofy movie star style for the evening-maybe with pretty combs or barretts. You may also wish to suprise everyone and wear a "fall" or fake pony tail or hairpiece for the night. I have done this for parties and events and everyone loves it.

You can get them to match your hair then have them put in-either a piece or a tail or just more hair that goes in with combs to add volume to your regular hair. This is what all the movie stars do before Oscars. Don't think for a second that is all their real hair.

Personally, I have more extensions than AT%26amp;T!!!!

They look great. Mine are expensive and cost a lot of upkeep, but for one night, you can get ones that you just place in. They don't have to be long, if you prefer your hair short. Just extra volume so you can add more style. These are just suggestions, and I hope you have fun!!

As a side note (because some girl commented after me saying nasty things about me and about extensions) She obviously does not know what she is talking about.

I suggested them. I don't know if that is your choice or not. And I suggested them because they look fantastic in pictures. Obviously, if you decide to get them, you go to a salon and have her help you with them. If you can't find the right color, you get a close match and dye your hair to match the piece.

As far as I know, their are no "Animal Hair" extensions. That is crazy. There are synthetic (plastic) and I have used them for pony tails. They are good for a few wears and then you throw them away. If you get ones put into your hair with clamps, braids or bonding, I recommend clamps and you get human hair. That's what I have. And extensions are not for people who made bad mistakes with their hair. Some people have thin hair, so they get extensions for volume. Also, as you style your hair, it can break off. People get extensions so they don't have to style their hair for a while and give it a break. People get extensions for special occasions. I just saw a show on how the stars go to Beverly Hills and have pieces put in at $500 per piece for the Oscars-which is on TV, so they don't look bad in pictures. And some people get extensions just for fun or in situations like you are in-for one night because at the moment, their hair happens to be in a short style. Jessica Simpson has extensions.

Anyway, these are just ideas, which is what you asked for. And you ahd hasked for something different. With short hair, you can either spike it out, smooth it out or poof it out. Thats pretty much it, but there are a lot of variations within those boundaries. Slicked back with a bun in the back. Pixie. Find the best style for your face shape in magazines and pick the one you like best. If you choose a piece or extension, go to a beauty supply store to get it and have them help you find the right style and color.

My advice is to remember that this is a special event, and I would choose "classy" over trendy or something wild. That is just an opinion, you may want to rebel out, but since it is a dance, you are dressed up, it's appropriate to be classy and pretty. An updo is classic, which is why I suggested suprising everyone with long hair for the night.

OK, so your hair is like Posh's. Depending on the type of girl you are and the type of dress, you can pull off a somewhat spikey look. Determine which side of your face you want your bangs to fall and pull them to that side. Make sure you separate them using what hair product your stylist likes. When you have your stylist do the top, have him/her give you some lift. It's nice when they are jagged as long as they are not going in random directions. Make sure the back is flarred out. If your hair is dark, get some of the Redkin glitter spray. It comes in various colors and you can always find something that will accent your dress and accessories. As for the extentions, no way! Extentions and weaves were invented for people who have made bad decisions with their hair. In no way do you want to get an extention of hair (most likely fake or animal) that looks like it matches, but not quite. It will be in pictures of you and your date. My theory is that anyone who wears extentions, weaves, or a tupee, will be on video and it won't be flattering to them.

Talk to the stylist that does your hair. They will have the best ideas of what would look good with your skin coloring and hair type. I think color should reflect on your personality. I think either an auburn or blond streaks might look kinda cool though.

I think that depends on if you want to stand out , or fit in ,or if you just want something not one person has. If you want something that is not to LOOK AT ME ,go with red (my x-ant had that and it looked great) or brown it is not that much you can do that can go wrong with brown!I HOPE I HELPED!

So i need a few ideas for my hair.?

so its naturally straight, but the thing that makes its SO uncontroable is that it is THICK. ok i know i can straighten it, tie it up in a ponytail/bun, half up half down. but thats all i can do i need something new. i tried scruncing but since its straight and thick it NEVER worked. if you have any tips/ideas to help that would be great. also im getting side bangs and i thought i should(for an easy everyday look) straighten the bangs(when needed) and curl the rest of my hair, any chance that you could help with that too?(when i say curl i dont mean scrunch, you know a bit more natural looking not held up with gallons of hairspray) thanks a lot!

Well, for starters, here are a few tips on styles you can do to your hair with OR without curling it, as you mentioned :

- side ponytails are cute, your hair is out of the way but not in a boring regular ponytail.

-pigtail braids are cute too, unless you dont want a "little girly" look, lol

-you could try the "poof" ; poffing up a portion of your hair and pinning with bobby pins it to add some height to it.

If you don't like those ideas, and still wanna know about curling, then I can help with that too...

If you don't want to use a regular curling iron (which can take a while, depending on the amount of hair you have) then I would reccomend hot rollers. I have these connair hot rollers that are rubber, you wrap your hair around the rubber pieces, then twist them and fasten them. Do it to your entire head and let them sit for like 10 minutes. They work really good, and you can find it at Wal-Mart.

Well your hair sounds alot like mine. I got a razor cut, so all the ends are really pieces and messy looking. Ask them to "channel" the ends and do it with a razor and thinning shears. I really like the cut and its easy to style. Also get the back shorter and "choppy", leave longer pieces in the front. Maybe take about 2 inches off.

Well... the simple high pony tail is always FABULOUS!!!! Also pigtails below the ear are good. You can do a half pony tail so the bottom half of your hair is down. A side ponytail. ABSOLUTLY NOOOOOOOOO BRAIDS!!!!!!! You can buy a flower clip at claire's to add if you want alittle more. Headbands also are a great touch. For your frizzies just buy Bain De Terre Recovery Complex anti-frizz.

Well, since you have fair skin, too dark would make you look even whiter. So that's not a good idea. I would go with a light reddish brown tone. Green eyes and those tones go well and look natural. Take a look at nice'n easy golden brown. You can always try a wash out color that lasts a week or two to see what you like.
