ok
I am naturally a dark brunnette. About a year ago I went blonde, I loved it and I got really used to it.
but just 1 week and 1/2 ago I decided that I wanted to try strawberry blonde out..
did not work.
I looked like Jessica Rabbit or Ariel from The Little Mermaid..
I waited 2 days then added a chestnut color to it and now have a deep red aurburn color . its not that bad.. I dont like it, but its better than The Little Mermaid look ( at least on me)
but I want to try to change back to the blonde..
how long do you think it will take for the red to fade out, so I can try blonde again? or if anything can I get some ideas for new hair colors that might take better now that it is changed to red..
please help
thanks in advance

shampoo your head often (2-3 times a shower). Red hair color is the fastest color to fade. I used to liek the faded red color bc it looks lighter than the red you dye it and I do have naturally dark brown hair. I wouldn't suggest coloring your hair for at least 2 weeks you'll get it faded by then.
Usually with whatever color you put on your head, the color is going to be a combination of your current color and the new color you add to it. Keep that in mind. Gradually go lighter it'll be easier and less damaging.
If you have the money, go to a salon and get the color stripped, this takes out the color and leaves an empty canvas so they can add any color you want to it. This should be the last option though bc its not very healthy for your hair.
Another option is to put in temporary wash out dyes that can give you some change but these will not lighten. however you may be able to get golden hues on your hair if its on the medium side right now.
Good Luck sorry if I wrote a book.

oh yeah.. I did this a few times. I just dyed my dair the darkest shade of brown I could find. Even black.. nothing else will get that red out. Then later dye it back to your desired color

You really shouldn't keep changing the color without stripping the old color out first. You should go to a beauty shop and have them fix your hair using the foils. it looks awesome but it is pricey.
you can also just have them strip the color and use regular coloring and that is less money than a foil. The coloring they use is professional unlike what you buy in the store..
Good luck

I'm not sure if you've thought of this alrede, but first you should dye your hair back to it's original color. That way, when you go back to the blonde color that you loved it will look just like it did the first time--otherwise if you just dye it blonde now, it'll turn out like a light pink/aurburn!! eekkk...lol

If it is too, too red, ask a stylist about using a toner. You can go the Sally's and someone there may be able to assist you.

you can try and use Head and Shoulders shampoo it will help fade out the colour , then seek the advice of Loreal or what evere colour you used, on the side of the box there shoudl be 1-800 # fo ryou to contact them and they will give you the advice you need. Or go to Loreal.com and you can ask questions there on what colour is best for you, if you start colouring to much you will strip your hair and it will not take at all

Hi, well...reds wash out fast. But are hard to remove. and after u added the darker...well thats close to impossible to get back to blonde without damaging it intensly. I am a colorist and its possible but not easy. You wont be able to do it at home. Call a reputable salon and ask for a consultation. They are ususally free but not always. May cost you alot but..sounds like they will be the only to get you on your way back to blonde!! P.S...stay ouuta the isle at your local walmart or pharmacy!!! LOL GL hun:)

I've had some bad problems before with the same as you did, got this horrendous strawberry blond colors and messed with my hair just the same, put a darker brown then it looked ugly and kept on adding and really damaged my hair, I went to a color specialist who made it turn out beautiful a Sandy brown, but every single time I used to mess with my hair, the outcome was terrible, (So I made a promise to myself, never to mess with it ever again)
Please take my advice, do not mess with it ever again, pick one color like the base needs to be dark blond, buy the package at the drug store Garnier is one of the best, I use the light ash blond for roots, which I do myself every 3 to 4 weeks and leave it alone until I have enough outgrow to get my high lights done, I get my highlights done every 2 to 3 months depending on how long my hair retains the color, and my friend an expert colorist , does highlights and low lights when I need some low lights because my hair may be too blond.
Hope this helps. Just do your touch ups yourself and only get the roots, this will save your hair a lot of trouble and cause less damage.
Take care

The red should fade fast, but that doesn't mean the brown will fade out. If you want to be blonde again, the only thing you can do is bleach it. Instead of doing an all over bleach and tone which will dry and damage your hair out, shoot for getting and all over heavy hilite. I defietly would get this professionaly done, otherwise it's really easy to mess up the color yourself...as you've already discovered. The only other option would be to go to a salon that uses Rusk Elimin8. Its a color remover of permanent haircolor, and it does absolutely no damage to your hair,..your hair would actually feel healthier after having it done. Of course after that was used on you, you'd have to put a blonde color back on your hair to even it all out. Good luck, hope I helped.

Since the color that you have doesn't look bad, just leave it for a while and let it fade out on it's own.
